Residential Design
Drawings that give builders the information they need to price and build with confidence — from the first sketch through the permit set.
Design work for homeowners: new houses, additions, and whole-home renovations. We study the lot and the existing structure before drawing a line, then carry the design all the way to construction documents and permit drawings so nothing is left to interpretation on site.

Design-Build
One firm responsible for both the drawings and the build — keeping design intent connected to what gets constructed.
When you'd rather hold one contract than two, we design the project and deliver the construction. Darius runs the job personally and self-performs key trades, which keeps the finished detail matched to the drawing and the schedule in one set of hands.

Construction Consulting
Owner representation and oversight for clients who already have a builder — or are in the process of selecting one.
Consulting engagements where HCB represents the owner rather than holding the build. We review scope and pricing before a contract is signed, coordinate the trades and consultants during the job, and keep the work accountable to the documents.

What a Project Costs
Construction cost varies with scope, size, location, existing conditions, materials and finish level. There is no honest way to price a project from a slider. HCB works with clients early to define realistic scope and develop a preliminary budget that reflects the actual project — before drawings are finished and long before anyone is bidding it.
Commercial Projects — Available on a Case-by-Case Basis
HCB Designs primarily serves residential clients, but commercial design and construction projects are considered on a case-by-case basis. We evaluate each opportunity based on project scope, complexity, location, and the level of design and construction coordination required.
HCB Designs is a residential design-build firm that also provides construction consulting. Darius Heads holds Associate AIA membership and the LEED Green Associate credential; he is not a licensed architect. Licensed architects and engineers are engaged when a project requires a stamp.
